Four Gambian doctors and eight nurses will undergo a three-week medical training programme in Turkey, starting from September 8, the trans-continental nation’s Embassy in Banjul announced Thursday.

The Turkish Ministry of Health and the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) will jointly fund this training programme, according to a press release.

“It could be recalled that multi-agreements were signed by the governments of Turkey and The Gambia on 24th May 2014 during the first Turkey-Gambia Joint Economic Commission. These agreements, which were signed in Banjul, include funding of some health related activities and on-the-job training packages for Gambian personnel in Turkey,” the dispatch concludes.
