Adamawa PDP Fixes Sept 6 For Guber Primaries

The Adamawa state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has fixed September 6, for its primary election.

This is following the release by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of the time table for the Adamawa governorship election.

A circular from the state chapter of the party indicated sale of forms to aspirants would begin by August 15 and end on the 19th, while aspirants are expected to return forms between August 20 and 25.

The party said it would screen aspirants on August 28 while election for ad hoc delegates would hold on September 2 with the process culminating in the primary election on September 6.

INEC had earlier fixed October 11 as the date for the governorship election.

Resident Electoral Commissioner in Adamawa State, Mr. Kassim Gaidam, had confirmed the date while giving further details of the election indicating  September 17 as the last day for submission of Forms CFOO2, CFOO1 and nomination forms at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.

The INEC said it would publish personal particulars of candidates, in line with Section 31 (3) of the Electoral Act 2010 on September 23 and has also fixed September 29 for submission of names of party agents for the election to the electoral officers of the various local government areas, in line with Section 45 of the Electoral Act, 2010 while October 9 would be the last day for campaigns by candidates of political parties, in line with Section 99 of the Electoral Act, 2010.
