AFCON 2013: DR Congo v Mali Preview
DR Congo and Mali go head to head on the final day of Group B with both sides knowing a win will put them into the quarter-finals.
A draw could be enough for Mali, depending on the result of Ghana’s game with Niger.
The Leopards lie third in Group B after two draws and coach Claude LeRoy says his team face an uphill task against the Malians.
Both sides expect to have a full complement of players to choose from.
DR Congo coach Claude LeRoy:
“We know that only a win will now qualify us for the quarter-finals.
“It will be rough and tough for us against Mali, but at least we know what we have to do.”
“We will attack because that has always been my philosophy. I love to play offensive football.”
Mali coach Patrice Carteron:
“We need a point to qualify for the quarter-finals and must forget about [the 1-0 defeat to] Ghana and focus on the Congolese.
“The destiny of Mali is in our hands.”
