_65471491_mabiNiger are still looking for their first Africa Cup of Nations point, after losing all four of their games to date.

The Mena will take encouragement from holding Mali for 84 minutes in their Group B opener, before conceding Seydou Keita’s late winner.

DR Congo coach Claude LeRoy complained that his team’s uneven training surface could injure his players, although all 23 completed Tuesday’s session.

LeRoy also said he will continue with an attacking formation against Niger.

Any problems within the Leopards’ camp over coach LeRoy’s future appear to have been resolved, following their 2-2 draw with Ghana.

Niger coach Gernot Rohr said before the finals that a point for his team would represent a successful tournament.

The former Gabon coach is expected to stick with the defensive tactics employed against Mali in his attempt to achieve his target.

Niger coach Gernot Rohr:

“Everybody can score goals as we have seen – so we’ll take them collectively not individually.

“We will try and defend well, just like we did against Mali.

“There was just one mistake and that allowed them to score, so now we need a game without any mistakes.”

DR Congo Claude LeRoy:

“I don’t know how to play defensively. I’m almost at the end of my career and I don’t need to play defensively – I’m not very good at that.”
