AMISOM displays arms cache ceased from war lord in Mogadishu

African union forces in Somali capital Mogadishu have presented to the media 18 militants and weapons they said were captured during the early morning operation on Ahmed Adow Dai former Wadajir district home in Mogadishu that forced international flights from regional countries cancelled.

According to AMISOM sector one commander Dick Prit Olum the joint AMISOM and Somali forces operation is over and successful.

Prit Olum has confirmed that one AMISOM soldier was wounded in the operation while two other militants were killed in the raid.

Fifteen people were killed and more than twenty others were wounded during the exchange of fire between Somali forces supported by AMSIOM troops versus Ahmed Dai militants near Aden Ade International airport.

Somali forces recovered arms from the house of former war lord Abdi Nure who is still on the run last week as the operation to clean illegal arms in the hands of civilians continue.
