Anambrarians react happily to Obiano’s swearing in
The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Mrs Chinwe Nwaebili in an interview said Anambra has witnessed the best transition since the creation of the state.
She said the peaceful transition ceremony and the large attendance to the event was answered prayer, stressing that such has never occurred in the history of Anambra since its creation.
“That the sitting governor was present to handover properly to incoming governor without rancor was a great height. We in the legislative arm assure that the legislature will give the new governor every support needed to ensure he achieves a greater height”, she said.
Mr Oseloka Obaze, the Secretary to the State Government said that the ceremony marked the beginning of good things to come in Anambra.
He called on the stakeholders to rally round the governor and give him necessary support that would take the state forward.
Chief Nathaniel Uzoma, state chairman Ohaneze Ndigbo in Ekiti State and president South West said that the peaceful inauguration was a sign of greater things to come in Igbo land.
He said Ndigbo had come of age and should take their political life in their hands.
He said that Anambra had shown that there is strength in unity and called for all Igbos to be united where ever they live.
Another respondent, Mr Ikechukwu Umeh, the Anambra House of Assembly chief whip corroborated the opinion of the speaker adding that the legislature would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that development and growth are recorded and sustained in the state.
He called on the people and residents of Anambra to cherish and nurture the state for the common good of all, adding that political difference should not be allowed to divide the state.
