APGA endorses Jonathan, says there will be trouble in Nigeria if he refuses to run
In agreement with JJJ, Chief Victor Umeh, the National Chairman of APGA said that there will be trouble in the country if president Goodluck Jonathan does not contest in the 2015 presidential elections.
Umeh also stated publicly that talks were currently ongoing between the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Grand Alliance to examine areas of partnership to enable APGA play integral role in the government of President Goodluck Jonathan.
Chief Umeh while expressing the position of APGA in the whole political calculation , said that APGA will see to the realization of Jonathan’s re-election in next year’s presidential election .
According to him, the rally was pertinent in order to galvanize support for the President’s second tenure ambition as he rightly stated that APGA authorized the formation of Join Jonathan Journey .
The APGA boss however noted that under president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration , the country has witnessed free, fair and credible elections as exemplified in Ekiti and Osun states respectively, adding that democracy has indeed taken root in the nation’s electoral process . He therefore vehemently emphasised that Jonathan needed to be re-elected for another 4 years , Chibok girls or no Chibok girls.
He said that those fanning the embers of disunity in the country were the master-minds of the missing Chibok girls .
A former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Ken Nnamani who represented Sir Emeka Ofor in the rally praised the efforts of the APGA national Chairman and called for peace amongst all and sundry . Also, former Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs.Josephine Aneni noted that President Goodluck Jonathan was the best man for the position of President in 2015.
Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano declared that Anambra state and the entire APGA family were in full support of Jonathan’s presidential ambition . Governor Obiano said that APGA as a party had unanimously endorsed Goodluck Jonathan for 2015 presidency. He said the party will contest all elective positions in 2015 except the position of the President .
Other speakers during the Join Jonathan Journey rally in Awka include the Director-General of the NGO, Chief Ben Oranusi, national mobilizer of the NGO, and some others who were of the opinion that Jonathan is a good brand and that the JJJ movement was deeply rooted in the igbo race and supports Jonathan’s second tenure ambition .
Chief Victor Umeh also used the occasion to receive some decampees from the PDP into APGA and equally announced the patrons of Join Jonathan Journey to include Governor Willie Obiano , Prince Arthur Eze , Sir Emeka Ofor, amongst others, while the rally was attended by dignitaries too numerous to mention .
