'Black Friday' declared for hijack victim Taegrin Morris
JOHANNESBURG – The Reiger Park community, east of Johannesburg, has declared today ‘Black Friday’, in memory of four-year-old Taegrin Morris.
The little boy was killed on Saturday during a botched hijacking in Ekurhuleni — he was dragged to death by the hijackers, who did not allow his mother enough time to remove him properly from his seatbelt.
Taegrin was left hanging half outside the car and dragged a long distance.
On Thursday evening, hundreds of people gathered for his memorial service.
Many described the little boy, as the prince of peace, and that his death was not in vain, but had united the Reiger Park community.
Taegrin will be laid to rest on Saturday. The funeral service will take place at the Reiger Park Stadium.
Community members also plan to march in Boksburg.
As yet, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident which lead to his death.
