Borno: Boko Haram kill 14 in Jibwhiwhui village

image14 people were killed in Jibwhiwhui village of Hawul local government area of Borno state and its surrounding villages when gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram insurgents invaded the area.

A resident of the area, who does not want his name in print told our correspondent on phone that the gunmen stormed the villages on Thursday night, killing 7 people before moving to the other surrounding villages and killed 7 other people again in the operation which lasted till 5:00am on Friday.

He said the gunmen who arrived Jibwhiwhui at about 10:00 pm entered people’s houses, picking their occupant, shooting them before their family members and fled unchallenged.

An indigene of the area who lives in Maiduguri told DailyPost that he gathered that the gunmen who came on motorcycles stormed the village and killed 7 person before moving to nearby villages, killing other 7 people.

He said the insurgents killed three sons his uncle, but due to security reason, he could not travel home.

It could be recalled that on Wednesday, gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram terrorists attacked Miringa town of Biu local government Area and burnt down all GSM masts in the town, However, they did not kill anybody but snatched a Toyota Land cruiser Jeep belonging to an APC chieftain.

Efforts to get the Borno state Police Command Public Relation Officer, DSP Gidoen Jibrin for confirmation proved abortive, as his phones were switched off at the time of filling this report.
