Central secures win in Kuloro opener

Central FC joined Bonto as the two teams so far to win their opening games at the ongoing Kuloro Sports Committee nawettan competition underway at the village’s playing ground. They saw off the challenge from Mandinaba Academy by the odd goal.

The newly revitalized tournament that is being played in honour of the late Mustapha Barry saw Bonto secured a 1-0 defeat of Kuloro FC in the opening game of the competition on Saturday.

Reacting to the game, the head coaches of both teams praised the “extraordinary potentials” of their players, expressing hope for a triumph in their second matches. 

Mandinaba Academy’s Sulayman Dampha added that despite the loss, he still maintain high hope in his boys, vowing that he is confident of a win against Kombo Tunjina in the next game.

Sainey Barry of Central on the other hand described the performance of his players as untouchable. He vowed to sweep aside any team on its way to glory.

Action will resume on Thursday when Qcell entertain Kairaba while Saraba will take on Afia on Friday. Bonto will return to action for their second game on Saturday when they meet Mandinaba Academy. Both teams will be hoping to bounce back from their opening defeats.

As part of the tournament, the Kuloro Sports committee on Saturday morning organised a Marathon run competition which was later preceded by a forum where football rules and regulations were discussed and the menace of drug and alcohol use among young people.
