Former Luapula Province Minister Besa Chimbaka says the region is the least developed despite having voted for the Patriotic Front overwhelmingly in the 2011 general elections.

Chimbaka, who is also former Bahati Member of Parliament, said that the only development that was taking place had been laid out by Rupiah Banda administration.

“Luapula province gave President Sata and the PF 90% of the votes and yet there is nothing, no development that has been given to the people of Luapula,” he said.

“The Mansa-Luwingu road was not only on the drawing card of MMD but it was there as a priority, the re-servicing of the Chembe-Mansa-Kashikishi road was to be done by DANIDA and the funds were there the pedicle road you know the contractor was just stopped and the new contractor who is doing it as a snail’s pace very slowly was brought in.”
