Consumer Action Group dissolved
The Office of the President Wednesday announced the dissolution of the Consumer Action Group with immediate effect.
A press release from the presidency warned that any unscrupulous person or persons impersonating officials of the Food Safety and Quality Authority and illegally demanding cash payments from food business operators will face the full force of the law.
“Business operators are hereby informed that any person or persons claiming to be employees of the Food Safety and Quality Authority should produce the Authority’s valid identity card. Any person or persons suspected of such illegal acts should be immediately reported to the nearest police station,” it concluded.
