Court of Arbitration upholds Suarez’s four-month ban
Suarez will be allowed to train with his new team Barcelona, but will not participate in any football-related activity as stipulated in the original verdict.
This new development means that Suarez will only take to a football pitch from October, a day after Barca are scheduled to take on Real Madrid in La Liga, although speculations say national TV could decide to move the match to the next Sunday.
The former Liverpool striker was punished by FIFA, for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay’s group game against the Azzurris at the 2014 World Cup. He will now sit out Barca’s first 11 games of this season.
