Court Puts Prof Chirwa on His Defence
Former Zambia Railways Managing Director Professor Clive Chirwa has been found with a case to answer over two counts of corruption.
Resident Magistrate Obbister Musukwa found Chirwa and his co-accused Regina Mwale, a former finance director at Zambia Railways.
Chirwa is said to have contracted his company Clavel incorporated to train staff at the Zambia Railways without having declared interest.
On the other count Professor is said to have approved a K72, 000 monthly rental allowances for his stay at the uptown Fallsway Apartments.
The former Zambia Railways is a former supporter of the ruling Patriotic Front but fell from grace after he was fired with his passport confiscated by the state as he was deemed a flight risk.
