Don’t Lose Hope On Eagles, John Charges Nigerians
Former USA youth – teamer and AZAL midfielder, William Oluremi John, as charged Nigerians not to lose hope on the Super Eagles as they head for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The Eagles are going to Brazil without a win in their five exhibition matches, following the 2 – 1 loss to Team USA at EverBank Field (Jacksonville, Florida).
John, who was on the podium when Nigeria clashed with United States on Saturday said: “I think to be honest, Nigeria still showed some promise. There is nothing to be worried about losing a friendly before the World Cup.
“It would be nice for us to go to Brazil with a win but I think once the team are there, once the World Cup kicks off, we’ll show the true colours of Nigeria.
“So I was happy to check out the game. I am sure the best is yet to come from the boys. ”
It is worthy of mention that the African champions are adequately prepared for the mundial in terms of the opposition they faced in their tune – up matches, with four of their test games against the top ranked 20 teams in the world (Italy, Greece, USA and Mexico).
Nigeria are pitted in a friendly group at the World Cup, having been drawn alongside Argentina, Bosnia and Iran.
