Dos Santos angered by Tottenham’s refusal to sell
Giovani Dos Santos is desperate for a return to Spain and has been left frustrated by Tottenham’s desire to obtain a large transfer fee rather than allow him to move on and continue his career.
Since moving to Tottenham four years ago from Barcelona, Dos Santos has only made two Premier League starts and has spent most of his time at Racing Santander, Galatasaray and Ipswich Town. The Mexican international told ESPN Radio: “I want to return to Spain.
“There is a new coach at Tottenham, a new season is starting and it is clear to me that I want to return to Spanish football. I think that I will be able to announce the move soon.”
Dos Santos moved to White Hart Lane for £4.7million and feels he is being impeded in his efforts to move away from the club due to Spurs attempting to recoup the money the paid for him: “Tottenham have always tried to sell me for double the price that they paid for me. There are offers, but nothing can be made public yet.”
The 23-year old has 59 caps to his name and impressed while playing for Mexico at the 2010 World Cup and scored in the final of the 2011 Gold Cup as Mexico recorded a 4-2 victory over the USA but his development has stalled at Tottenham.
Dos Santos is looking to continue his career elsewhere and live up to the potential shown with the national team and as a youngster at Barcelona.
