Ethiopia: Germany President Joachim arrives Addis Ababa four day official visit

Germany President Joachim Gauck arrives in Addis Ababa for a four day official visit to Ethiopia in the afternoon of 17 March 2013. Mekonnen Manyazewal, Minister of Industry and other Ethiopian officials have welcomed the President at Bole International Airport.

This evening President Joachim Gauck will meet Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn in the National Palace. The Prime Minister will have a working dinner with the President.

Sources say the first lady of Germany and Ethiopia would also have discussions.

Monday morning Mr. Joachim Gauck is scheduled to meet President Girma Woldegiorgis to hold discussions.

Mr Joachim Gauck will visit the African Union Commission and meet Dr. Dlamini Zuma, chief of AAC.

Tuesday will hopefully see the President visit Lalibela Church.

The President is expected to visit addis Ababa Tegbare ed TVET institute on Wednesday before he leaves Addis Ababa that same day afternoon.

The President is accompanied by a delegation comprising around 60 officials.
