Ethiopia: The Anniversary of the Death of the Late PM Meles Zenawi to Be Observed

The Meles Zenawi Foundation has announced that that the first anniversary of the death of the late Prime Minister, Meles Zenawi, will be commemorated on August 20. Candlelit vigils will be held the previous evening, August 19, and on the next day a cornerstone will be laid for the construction of the Meles Museum, This will incorporate a library where the late Prime Minister’s original manuscripts will be available and accessible to scholars and researchers as well as other documents and works will be available. The anniversary will also be celebrated with seedling planting programs in a many areas on August 21. The Foundation is also working to facilitate ways for the public to be involved in the memorial activities and plans, as well as making arrangements for citizens to donate sums to the Foundation through bank accounts that it will soon be opening in Addis Ababa and in the regions.
