False alarm over Ebola at Lagos Airport

There was anxiety yesterday at the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) , domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos following a false alarm raised by a certain passenger identified to be an ex- boy friend against his estranged female ex- lover.

According to sources, the certain passenger raised a false alarm that his former girl friend has been infected with the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).

The young lady was onboard a domestic flight enroute Lagos from Enugu.

Sources hinted that passengers were soaked in tension and anxiety when an aircraft that arrived about 2pm was given a medical emergency landing and clearance following a call the airline received from Enugu that one of the passengers on board the flight has been infected with the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease.

On arrival of the aircraft at the domestic wing of the Lagos Airport, a lady ; an Enugu based nurse, was subjected to screening for Ebola following information received from a certain caller, who alleged that she has been infected by the deadly Ebola Virus .

Ensuing from the confusion , all passengers and crew members that arrived on that flight were tested by a medical team from Port Health Services, the airline and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) officials.

Investigations revealed that no one tested positive of the Ebola Virus.

It was learnt the false alarm arose from a call made by a young man , said to be an actor that the ex- lover was infected by the Ebola Virus Disease.

Their relationship was said to have hit the rocks after she allegedly found a new suitor .

The young man was said to have been heart broken when he allegedly found out that his ex-lover has found new love.

A source said: ”When he came to her residence on Thursday with the intention to pass the night with her, she was said to have refused. It was on the strength of that disappointment, that he threatened to deal with her, after he got to know she was on her way to Lagos.

The young lady it was learnt got into a relationship with the ex- lover less than a month ago before the romance went sour.

Sources hinted that the young lady was taken in a yellow van belonging to FAAN aviation security officials to the Port Health Services located near the airport for further test.
