Fatou Gaye removed as Environment minister

The president of the Republic, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya AJJ Jammeh, acting under the provisions of section 71 (4) (B) of the constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, has relieved Mrs. Fatou Ndeye Gaye of her Cabinet appointment as minister of the Environment, Parks and Wildlife with effect from Monday, 12th May 2014.

A press release from the presidency said she will be redeployed for another assignment. Meanwhile the release also indicated that that the portfolio of the Environment is now under the purview of the Ministry of Energy whilst the Parks and Wildlife comes under the Office of the President.
