flood-and-traffic-gridlock-in-Lagos-3Confusion struck in Boji Boji metropolis in Delta State at about 7:10pm during the weekend as a nine-year-old girl was swept away by water flowing along the popular erosion ravaged- Old Lagos-Asaba road in the metropolis. The incident happened during a heavy down pour in the area.
Recounting the ugly ordeal, an eye witness, Emmanuel Nyiam, said that the father of the little girl was carrying the wife and their little daughter on his motorcycle while on their way home during the heavy down pour. He said the man was trying to enter Alika Street, at Boji Boji Owa, through Old Lagos Asaba road, when the heavy flood swept the motorcycle away. He said they fell into the gutter and before the man and the wife could recover, the flood had carried the girl to an unknown destination along the newly constructed gutter.
