Ali-Modu-SheriffA former governor of crisis-ridden Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, has dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

AIT reports that the erstwhile Governor announced his entry into the ruling PDP while addressing his teeming supporters at the Borno Airport on Monday.

The Senator, who pledged support for President Jonathan if he eventually declares his interest in 2015 presidential election, however did not explain reasons behind his decision to dump the opposition party.

However, Inuwa Bwala, a strong associate of the former governor had earlier told newsmen that Sheriff was no longer comfortable with the structure of the APC and has decided to defect to the PDP.

He was earlier quoted as saying, “He has defected and he is now in the PDP.”

More to come.
