Governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido during a mass rally to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the state has blamed the entire people of the state for the blunders committed during his predecessor, Alhaji Ibrahim Saminu Turaki’s administration . Lamido said, “Saminu Turaki as a young man came in with exuberance and zeal to work but you, the people lured him with all sorts of blackmail when nepotism was the order of governance and he served you in accordance with your expectations of him”.
The Governor further said that the journey of building the state was tasking but with a collective resolve and perseverance, these difficulties were overcome..
His words, “I am being persecuted for being harsh and arrogant to some of you during the cause of my governance but I did that to bring out the best from all of you and today, we are all savouring the commitment”.
Earlier in his speech, the state deputy Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Mahmoud said, “Sule Lamido has demonstrated a clear evidence of honesty and exemplary leadership qualities that has excavated the state from beneath the debris of negativity to prosperity”
