The sleepy community of Igueben local government area of Edo State yesterday came alive as former heads of State, governors and other dignitaries stormed the country home of a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Tom Ikimi to felicitate with the septuagenarian.

Former Ghanian President Jerry Rawlings, described Ikimi as a man whose legacies and contribution to International diplomacy stood him out on the African continent, which made many people to respect him.

On his part, former Military President, Ibrahim Babangida, described the celebrant as a “seasoned technocrat, a hard-core politician and eloguent speaker whose carriage invokes authority in truest sense”

“To attain the age of three scores plus ten in a country where life expectancy stands at a ridiculous 47 years, is a huge milestone”

“The man celebrating the milestone is not just as remarkable as the age, he symbolises what makes that age instructively unique; uncommon wisdom, elegance, ageing gracefully, a show of quintessence, a display of finesse, with uncommon outlook”.

Chief Host and Edo state Governor Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, described Ikimi as “a political architect and noted that “Nigeria at this point in our history require leaders that can stand for Nigeria in order to guarantee future for the younger ones.”

Dignitaries in attendance were Chief Bisi Akande, Audu Ogbe, John Oyegun, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, Johnson Arumenmen, Dr Chris Ngige, and Senator Ben Obi.

Others includes media mogul Raymond Dokpesi,Dr Ogbonnaya Onuh, former Governor Oserhiemen Osunbor and Dr Doyin Okupe.
