Fr ChitiThe Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection says the return of funds meant for climate change by government to the donors shows misplaced priorities.

JCTR Director Father Leonard Chiti says it was shocking that climate change was a huge global problem the Zambian government could not utilize funds availed to it to reduce the impact of climate change.

“It may have something to do with priorities. What is the most important thing that we want to work on? It may also be a question of management, how do we manage national affairs in the way government approaches matters like climate change,” Fr Chiti said.

”We are all suffering the negative effects of climate change and the international community is helping us to deal with the negative effect of climate change and there we are, we are missing the opportunity. “
