THE Joint Task Force (JTF) has denied reports that the Boko Haram Islamic sect was planning to attack Maiduguri metropolis and other parts of Borno State.

Speaking Monday in Maiduguri, JTF’s spokesman, Lt. Col Sagir Musa said that the alleged planned attack was false.

Musa added: “There is absolutely no truth in the rumours of any impending operation by the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Maiduguri that will lead to the closure of some wards in and outside the metropolis. This rumour is dubious and bunkum.”

The rumour, according to him, “intends to further dampen the relative peace being enjoyed in Borno State in the past few weeks.” Source: ngrguardiannews
