Siasia 1Samson Siasia has thrown his hat in the ring, to take over as Super Eagles coach.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) were in talks with Stephen Keshi over an extension to his contract, but negotiations broke down this week, with Keshi hinting at “moving on”.

Speaking to Radio Nigeria, Siasia lamented the lack of urgency in Nigerian football.

“As we’re talking now, the Super Eagles are scheduled to start qualification matches for next year’s African Cup of Nations in less than two weeks and we still don’t know who will be in charge for those two September games,” he said.

When the former Nigeria national team handler was asked if he was keen on return, he replied: “Of course! It is a thing of pride to be in charge of your country’s team and I’ve always felt I have an unfinished business with the Super Eagles considering the way I was sacked wasn’t the right way to go.”
