Kwara State Gov Congratulates Unilorin On New Ranking

Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has congratulated the University of Ilorin on its latest ranking as the best University in the country by 4 International Colleges and Universities, 4ICU.

Governor Ahmed gave the commendation through his Special Assistant on Students’ Affairs, Mr. Adewumi Patrick, who visited the Vice-Chancellor in his office yesterday.

The governor pledged his support for the University towards the achievement of its mission in teaching, research and community development, and assured the institution of his open door policy.

He pleaded with the University administration to sensitize the students on their civic rights by participating in the forthcoming voters registration exercise in the state.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof AbdulGaniyu Ambali, said that the University was fortunate to have Mr. Adewumi, an alumnus of the University, appointed the Special Assistant on Students Affairs. He then thanked the Governor for all his support.

Prof Ambali, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Prof Yisa Fakunle, gave assurance that the University would sensitise students on their civic duties with respect to the voters registration exercise.

Informing the Governor that the University students recently elected a new set of Union Executive Council using, the electronic voting system, the Vice-Chancellor stressed that Nigerians would want their votes to count in the forthcoming general elections in the country.
