National_in-the-news-NATIONAL-Local_stripA man was found dead early Thursday morning near the Simon Mazorodze flyover in Harare in a suspected case of murder.

The 28-year old man from Hwedza, whose name can not be released as his relatives have not yet been informed, is suspected to have been murdered on Wednesday night or early morning on Thursday, state media reported.

His body, which was lying on the grass, was discovered by passers by near the flyover. When the ZBC News crew arrived at the scene, people had gathered to catch a glimpse of the body.

People who live near the area said the scene of the murder has become a dangerous spot as only last week another person was killed before the murderers hanged his corpse.

They called for the establishment of a police post nearby. By the time ZBC News left the scene, police had not yet attended the incident.

Harare Central province police spokesperson, Inspector Kedias Sibanda said police officers from Harare Central later attended the scene.

Inspector Sibanda said police are treating the case as murder and the body has been taken to Parirenyatwa Hospital for a post-mortem. – ZBC
