PF cadresThe loss of a ward by-election in Masaiti District seems to have set the Patriotic Front Copperbelt house on fire with the Permanent Secretary making a haste trip to the area to quell the fire.

And Copperbelt Province PF chairman Sturdy Mwale said that they expected District Commissioner Joseph Mwambana to campaign for the ruling party during campaigns.

Mwambana was put on the spot after civil servants at Masaiti District office went wild with celebration after the PF lost the ward election with the portrait of President Michael Sata reportedly pulled down.

PF cadres retaliated by locking the offices for the District Commissioner.

Provincial Permanent Secretary Howard Sikwela who rushed to Masaiti District said that the civil servants were biting the finger that fed them by celebrating the loss by the PF.

And Mwale said he sent his boys for the District Commissioner because he was aware that the government employee had not campaigned for the PF.

However by law District Commissioners are not allowed to take a partisan stance as advocated by the PF Copperbelt chairman.
