Medeama have written to the FA Cup Committee to demand a hearing over their recent decision to dock them cash incentives for the competition.

The FA Cup Committee announced the decision to withhold cash incentives for clubs who flout the rules of the competition.

Medeama is alleged to have denied access of an accredited cameraman from covering their FA Cup match against Pure Joy FC.

But the holders claim the said cameraman was not duly accredited and therefore was not entitled to be given access to the match venue.

The FA Cup Committee nevertheless went ahead to discharge punishment to Medeama without giving them an opportunity to respond to the allegation.

The club has now written to the FA Cup Committee to re-open the case.

“We do not understand this ruling from the FA Cup Committee,” Medeama’s administrative manager Benjamin Kesseh told Metro FM.

“Natural justice demands that parties are given a fair hearing when an issue come up.

“Medeama was not given such opportunity to defend itself and that is quite unfortunate.

“We have written to them [FA Cup Committee] to demand that this issue is looked at again.”

Medeama are in the Round of 16 of this season’s contest in their bid to successfully defend the crown they won last year.
