Inhabitants of Riverine areas of Ondo state would soon enjoy adequate portable water supply in their localities.

The State Governor, Dr, Olusegun Mimiko, gave the hint at the commissioning of the ultra modern office complex of the State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC),

Governor Mimiko said the contract for the portable water is at its advance stage adding that his administration would complete all ongoing projects in the state.

He said when the water project is completed it would help rid of hyacinth on its waterways.

He revealed that apart from the portable water project, many more life-changing programme would soon spring up in the area to complete government efforts at giving dividence of democracy to the people.

While stressing that the construction of the OSOPADEC office complex was in line with his administrations urban renewal agenda, Mimiko said it would enable workers perform optimally under a good serene and atmosphere.

He maintained that lots of life changing programmes had been completed in the state while many more will still spring up inline with it social contract with the people to always work for them. 

Earlier, Pator Wole Ogunyemi, the Chairman, Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) said the office complex was one of the many landmark projects of the commission since the inception of his leadership.

Ogunyemi revealed that the commission has live above board mostly for the people of the riverine area of the state.

He appreciated the governor for his encouragement and provision of funds for all activities of the commission.

“The Completion and furnishing of this new office complex is just of one such completion and delivery of projects that we have witnessed sine the inception of the new board”, he said.

At the event, the National Association of Nigeria Students, NANS, presented an Award to the OSOPADEC Chairman for his meritorious services to nation building and community development.
