Minister to Kick off National U20 Football Tournament

The Minister of Education mallam Ibrahim shukura is to kick off the finals of the  national U20 football competition slated for 20th september 2014 at the Ahmadu ballo stadium kaduna.

The competition which is the 3rd in its series is being organise in honour of the education minister for his continue support to the development of football in Nigeria.

 About 27  teams across the six geo-political zone participated in the football championship and Umaru bahgo FC a team own and sponsored by Emir of lapai in Niger state will trade tackles with Rima academy of sokoto at the final while the third place match had  feature teams from kaduna and Enugu and  Enugu won by 2-1 in kaduna.

Speaking to sports reporters on the level of preparedness for the tournament the Executive Secretary of federation of youth soccer clubs Hon A S luya organisers of the competition said the football competition In honour of the education minister has always bring out budding talents that have made the nation proud in both CAF and FIFA competition.

  According to him” this is the third edition and mallam ibrahim shekarau has always been in attendance since the competition began over five years ago and it has been a harvest of good footballing.

“The 1st and 2nd edition of the competition had took place in minna and zamfara and the third edition is now schedule for kaduna on 20th september and its going to be a huge success as the minister has promise to kick off the tournament”.

He then said the two  teams in the final will represent Nigeria in an international friendly in Dubai and ghana before the year runs out and also said trophies certificate and prize money will be given to all the participating team.
