As you know the Zionist regime in recent weeks by using unfounded pretexts, committed gross violations against Palestinian rights especially with the arbitrary arrest of hundreds of Palestinian youth and launched nonstop raids on Gaza Strip. This was done under conditions where Palestinian had organized peaceful demonstrations in different occupied Palestinian cities following the kidnapping and the horrible murder of a young Palestinian in Quds by Zionist fundamentalists, in order to voice their oppressed voice to all citizens of the world. But even these peaceful demonstrations were severely repressed.
During these days, we witnessed bold and inhuman Zionist military attacks in the Gaza Strip; bombing the homes of Palestinian citizens and targeted killings organized against the Palestinian civilian population, particularly women, children and even journalists. At present, these attacks have caused hundreds of deaths and injuries on the side of the Palestinians.
Also, we are also witnessing the brave and legitimate resistance of the Palestinian people and groups against the aggressions of the Zionist enemy and we are confident that the Palestinian nation with its heroic resistance and unwavering determination will cause the defeat of the Zionist criminal regime.
Excellency, the extension of this situation especially with the continual unjust blockade of the Gaza Strip, the lack of medical equipment that can treat the wounded and also inaccessibility of humanitarian aid is a cause for concern because it is a great humanitarian catastrophe.
Therefore helping the Palestinian and preventing further barbaric acts of the Zionist regime towards oppressed people is the responsibility of all countries and international organizations concerned with justice, peace. In this context, the Islamic countries with the particular context of Ramadan have a double responsibility.
Thus, it is necessary that the Islamic world highlights all its forces to the immediate and complete cancellation of the blockade on Gaza and must continue to support and pray for peace, for the Palestinian people by the grace of the Blessed Month of Ramadan. Today, the unity and solidarity of Islamic countries against the enemy are more necessary than ever.
I pray to God Almighty for the health and happiness of Your Excellency as well as those of the entire Islamic Ummah.
Dr. Hassan Rouhani
President of the
Islamic Republic of Iran
Acting President of Non-Aligned Movement
