New Italian ambassador received in Somalia
Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has received the new Italian ambassador to the country Fabrizio Marcelli in the capital Mogadishu today
Ambassador Fabrizio Marcelli who is first ambassador to Somalia since 23 years ago presented his diplomatic credentials to the Somali president.
According to state minister for foreign affairs Buri Mohammed Hamza who spoke to the media after the meeting ambassador Marcelli and president Mohamud discussed about how to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries while paving way for new development cooperation between the two states.
The Italian government has promised to help renovate Jowhar sugar factory, fund construction of Galkayo-Garowe road and refurbish Somali university.
Italy is few European countries that host thousands of Somali refugees that fled the 1991 civil war.
