A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Growth and Employment in States (GEMS3) has completed arrangement for the distribution of over 6000 Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) in Kano state.


The newly appointed GEMS3 Regional Manager  in charge of Zamfara, Jigawa, Katsina and Kano, Mr Kevin Conroy disclosed this in Gusau, Zamfara state capital yesterday when he paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Muhammad Kabir Danbaba.

He said that, the C of O was developed under the Systematic Land Titling and Registration (SLTR) stream of its intervention.

According to him, GEMS3 intervention was aimed at providing security and economic benefits to land administration in the states.

The Regional Manager solicited for the support and cooperation of traditional rulers in Zamfara state to the activities of GEMS3 across the state.

“GEMS3 is aimed at providing improve business environment as well as greater economy for the people, especially women folk”, he added.

Responding, the emir of Gusau, Alhaji Muhammad Kabir Danbaba commended GEMS for its intervention in land and tax administration.

He reiterated the determination of his council to give necessary support to the GEMS3 activities as its purely for the development of the people.
