Niger Government says APC should forget winning forthcoming by-election
The Niger State government has said that no matter the level of political mischiefs, blackmail or illusion of the All Progressives Congress (APC) they will not win in the next election into Niger East Senatorial seat.
Dalandi Ndayebo , the Commissioner of information, Niger State made this known yesterday at a press briefing.
He said that APC’s allegation of intimidation of its members should be ignored.
He affirmed that the members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state should disregard the empty show off and blackmail by the APC and put their heads together to defeat the opposition party at the by-election come August 30.
He added that only a party with no sense of history like the APC can toy with the joint resolve of the people of Niger East senatorial district.
The Commissioner said, “The people of Niger East senatorial district have never ever voted for an opposition party in an election that is as sensitive as the one at hand”.
He further stated that the people of the zone have established their independent democratic credentials even before some of the present leaders of the opposition party joined partisan politics.
“Even when the so-called hurricane blew across a particular section of the state in the 2011 general elections, the people of the Niger East senatorial district dared to be different-they remained with the PDP.” He added.
