Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, Former Minister

Former Aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has described recent social media attacks on his wife and daughters by a man who goes by the name Shama Musa Maliga on Facebook., as concocted lies designed to smear him and his family.

Maliga whose Facebook profile list his place of residence as Edmonton Canada, and a graduate of Harvard University, also claimed to have worked with Ex President Olusegun Obasanjo between 2004 and 2007 . He said on his wall “ I worked with ObJ between, 2004 to 2007 (Second term) as private in house Agent before leaving to back to Canada in late 2007.

3. I have known Femi since 2002; we first met during an evening Private meeting, on a Sunday at Otta (OBJ’s Parlor).

Fani-Kayode maintained’ that Needless to say all that was written there was nothing but a tissue of lies concocted by a sick mind. The man does not even exist. It was a scurrilous and desperate attempt to smear me and to intimidate me into silence’.

According to the ex Presidential spokesman who described the allegations and disgraceful, said in Abuja on Friday “However despite these vile attacks on innocent children and my wife, they must understand that I meant no offence and I did not say anything out of malice. I simply spoke the bitter truth”.

He stated further that “ When those that wish to smear me have decided to stop being faceless cowards and to stop hiding behind fake names and identities then we can take up this matter properly. When they are man enough to put a face to their fake identity then I shall take them to court”

Sequel to the outrage over the women he mentioned, the ex minister issued an apology insisting that his reference to intimate did not mean sexual.

Fani-Kayode had come under harsh attacks from mostly critics from the south east who took umbrage at his article titled ‘The bitter truth about the igbos’ where he reeled out some statistics and made remarks viewed as tribalistic and anti-igbo.

The former minister was reacting to the brouhaha that trailed the ‘deportation’ of some Igbos from Lagos to Anambra. Shortly after the move by Lagos, a former Abia Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, condemned the action and tagged Lagos a ‘ no man’s land’

It was the tag ‘ no man’s land’ that apparently irked Fani-Kayode , who then used his three part piece to debunk the claim. Interestingly, in his last piece, in an attempt to deny claims he was a tribalist, he listed three prominent Igbo ladies who he said he had ‘intimate’ relationships with as a testimony of his detribalized disposition.

The reference to the ladies, Bianca Ojukwu, Chioma Ananso and Adaobi Uhegbu, attracted outrage. And shortly after the attacks on his family from a Shama Maliga who claims to have worked with Former President Olusegun Obasanjo from 2003 to 2007, commenced.
