Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan promises better 2013
President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday assured Nigerians of better days ahead saying his administration will ensure that 2013 becomes better for the nation than the outgoing 2012.
Speaking at the foundation laying ceremony of the Living Faith Foundation Bible school in Kaduna, Jonathan said the people should expect more quality service delivery from his administration in 2013.
“Let me assure all of you and indeed all Nigerians that 2013 will be better for us than 2012 in all aspects of the nation’s history. The New Year shall be better for us in terms of job creation, wealth creation and improved security among others,” he said.
The president urged Nigerians not to despair as government is set to implement reforms that will improve living standards of all.
Jonathan called for patience as the reforms may be slow due to tedious processes involved.
He said he was aware that people find it difficult to continue to believe in the government saying “Sometimes, challenges make people doubt the sincerity of government, but I am confident that God knows everything.”
The President said like the biblical Job who lost everything he had “God wants Nigerians to learn some lessons from the challenges they are facing. God means well for this country.”
Jonathan said the security challenges in some parts of north will soon be history saying “having sanitised the electoral process, we are also intervening massively in road construction, upgrading of airports and railway development.”
