The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has suspended the ongoing doctors’ strike.

It will be recalled that, medical doctors in public hospital embarked on industrial action on July 1 to drive home their 24-point demands from the Federal Government.

A reliable source who spoke on condition of anonymity disclosed to Daily Times that the decision was taken Saturday night, but the suspension of the residency programme has not be reversed.

However, negotiations with the Federal Government will continue while the doctors’ resume on Monday, August 25.
