FORMER President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday paid a reconciliatory visit to the former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, where as Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party Board of Trustees, BOT, said he regretted the dismal performance of the party in the 2011 elections in the South West.

Ladoja, who was controversially impeached in 2006 had accused the former president of being the one behind his impeachment.

But trying to reconcile aggrieved members of PDP in the zone, Chief Obasanjo yesterday paid a visit to the former governor to woo him back to the party which he left ahead of 2011 governorship election of the state.

When asked to expatiate on the visit to Ladoja, Obasanjo, apparently referring to the defeat of the party and his visit to the governor, merely said jokingly, “something happened which made crayfish to bend and very soon the bent crayfish would be straightened.”

It will be recalled that efforts by the national leadership of the party to reconcile all the aggrieved parties in the PDP in Oyo State met brick wall and resulted in parallel congresses penultimate week.

In a desperate move to avoid a repeat of the unpleasant experience in 2011 election, Chief Obasanjo and representatives of other factions of the party held a closed door meeting with Ladoja.Vanguard
