Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano is this Friday evening expected to swear in 19 new commissioners.

DailyPost learnt that Obiano, who went into a state executive meeting with the old commissioners he inherited from his predecessor, Chief Peter Obi, will swear in the new commissioners consequent upon the confirmation of their names by the Anambra State House of Assembly earlier this week.

The State Assembly had on Thursday approved and confirmed the list of 19 commissioners submitted to it by the chief Willie Obiano .

After a long session of question and answer, the house confirmed the appointment of the commissioners.

Before the appointments of the commissioners were confirmed by the house, the deputy-speaker Rt.Hon.Prince Chukwudi Orizu read the report of the screening committee, saying that the nominees provided cogent answers to questions posed at them, and were suitably qualified to hold the positions they have been designated.

The deputy-speaker of the house, who was also the chairman of the screening committee said that in the course of the screening, the committee observed that some local government areas had more than one commissioner designate while some others do not have any.

The committee, therefore, recommended that the state governor should explore other avenues of compensating the local government areas that were not represented in the nominations.
