Omeruo signs new four-year Chelsea deal

Omeruo 1Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo, has put pen to paper on a new Chelsea contract, which will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2018.

The Nigerian moved to London in January 2012 froom Standard Liege’s youth academy, but has spent the last two seasons on loan at ADO Den Haag and Middlesbrough.

Omeruo, who has 14 caps for the Eagles, is expected to be one of the regulars at the 2014 World Cup and he is hopeful of breaking into the Blues’ first team.

“I’m thrilled to sign a new contract with Chelsea and am really excited about the future,” Omeruo told the club’s official website.

“To play at such a fantastic club is a real honour for me and I’ll be working incredibly hard to be successful.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time in England so far and can’t wait to get going.”
