Omeruo: We are ready
Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has expressed the team’s readiness to make impact at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The 26-year-old handed a welcome boost to the Nigeria team as he trained fully with the rest of the squad at the Estadio Brinco De Ouro da Princesa in Campinas on Wednesday.
The Chelsea centre-back, on loan at Boro last term, however, took to social media to call for support for Keshi’s boys in Brazil.
“It’s here and we are READY #allin or nothing Keep Calm and support Super Eagles”, Omeruo tweeted.
Omeruo last trained with the squad last Thursday in the USA when he picked up a slight knock in training after a coming together with Victor Moses.
He also missed the friendly game against the USA which the team lost 1-2 and did not train afterwards, walking with the Physio around the field as the team rounded off their training camp in the USA.
But the defender made a full and complete return to the team’s first training session on arrival in Brazil, and Omeruo is in line to suit up for the Super Eagles for the 16th time when they open their World Cup campaign against Iran in their Group F opener in Curitiba on Monday night.
