Osamawe Replaces Deji As New Chairman Ondo Council of Obas

The Ondo state Government has named the Monarch of Ondo Kingdom ‘Osamawe’, Oba (Dr) Victor Kiladejo as the new Chairman of the state’s council of Obas.

Oba Kiladejo would now replaces the late Deji of Akure, Oba Adebiyi Adegboye Adesida who joined his ancestors last year December, 2013.

Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade disclosed the new development in a statement issued in Akure, the state capital shortly after the state’s Executive Council meeting

Osemawe had occupied the chairmanship position in 1994 and 1995 during the Old Ondo state while in 1996, at the inception of the New Ondo state, the Olubaka of Ibaka emerged as the Chairman.

Olubaka, was succeeded by the Abodi of Ikale, later the Jegu of Ile-Oluji, Olugbo of Ugbo, Amapetu of Mahin and the Olowo of Owo, occupied the position before the late Deji of Akure took over in February 2012.

The statement further enjoined the new Chairman of the state’s council of Obas to sustain the gains of his predecessors and ensure peace reign among Obas in the state.
