The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun says it will hold its party governorship primary on April 12 ahead of the gubernatorial election on Aug. 9.
Mr Gboyega Famodun, APC Secretary in Osun, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo.

Famodun said that his “party has about 350,000 members across the 332 wards in Osun and they are all expected to take part in the April 12 gubernatorial primary election.”

According to Famodun, the gubernatorial primary election will give all the party members opportunity to endorse Gov. Rauf Aregbesola as their party flag bearer.

He said that only those with the party membership cards would be allowed to take part in the voting in all the 332 wards in Osun.

“ After the exercise has been carried out at the ward level, the returning officer would now take the collation result to the 31 local government levels.

‘’The returning officer at the local government level will take the assembled results to the state level at the party secretariat in Osogbo where the final results would be announced,’’ Famodun said.

Famodun urged the people in the state to come out en mass at their various wards on April 12, to participate peacefully in the exercise. (NAN)
