Copy of Alleged-Anambra-Voters-Register

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured Nigerians that it will not use addendum register for the gubernatorial election in Osun State this year but an updated register that will be generated from the continuous Voter Register Exercise.

In light of this, the commission has given out electronic copy of the voters register to all political parties in the state for their assessment.

The soft copies of the voters register contain all the 1,256,569 duly registered voters in Osun State.

Representatives of the 21 political parties in the state were present at the meeting where the presentation was held, as well as officials of the Commission.

Contrary to the usual unfriendly disposition exhibited among politicians, the meeting was devoid of abusive words and antagonistic behaviours, as all the representatives were lively, chatting and laughing with each other.

The Commission also seized the opportunity to re-emphasise its commitment to ensuring a level playing ground for all political parties just as it solicited for collaboration for continuous voter education towards ensuring a free, fair and credible August 9 gubernatorial election in the state.

INEC made it clear that issuance of Permanent voters cards to eligible voters between March 7 and 9 while continuous voters registration will commence three days after.
