The Campaign Organisation of Senator Iyiola Omisore, PDP’s governorship candidate in Osun, said on Friday that former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola was in support of his ambition.

Lere Oyewumi, Director-General of the Campaign Organisation, stated this on Friday in Osogbo.

Oyewumi told newsmen that Oyinlola was still a leader of the PDP in Osun and “is solidly in support of our ambition”.

He said Oyinlola led the PDP for several years and could not abandon the party. “Oyinlola himself came out openly to declare that he is still in the PDP, notwithstanding the defection of some of his loyalists.

“The former governor has held meetings with other leaders of the PDP and he cannot abandon the party.

“We cannot do away with Oyinlola; we will keep referring to him as a leader of the party. He laid a solid foundation for the PDP in the state.

“As I talk to you, Oyinlola still relates with us in the PDP and the relationship with him is very cordial,” Oyewumi said.

He said that the PDP government, if elected, would concentrate on rural development and focus on the welfare of all.
