PDP Youth Group Endorses Jonathan For Second Tenure
The PDP National Youth Frontier (PDPNYF) has endorsed President Jonathan to contest for a second term in office. The group made this disclosure at its NEC meeting yesterday in Abuja.
In a statement by the group’s national coordinator, Usman Okai Austin, and the secretary, Comrade Mukhtar Akoshile, it described Jonathan as “the best thing that has happened to this country since the advent of democracy; as his giant strides in repositioning the country amidst distractions for greater achievements is unprecedented.
“The country, since the inception of this administration, has witnessed awholistic economic, social and infrastructural transformation. Let us continue to support our president as patriotic Nigerians, so as to bring out the best in him,” he said.
Usman stressed that the group has, unflinchingly, resolved to channel the moral rectitude and tactical intelligence of its teeming members across the country and diaspora, towards mobilising millions of youths for the re-election of the president come 2015 and their aspirants on the platform of the party, so as to put political detractors to shame.
Similarly, in a reaction to a recent publication by one National Democratic Frontier (NDF), targeted at the party’s national chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, the group described the perpetrators as “low self-esteemed, callous, misguided elements who are envious of the achievements of the national chairman.”
Following investigations by the PDPNYF, Usman described the the Nationsl Democratic Frontier as a “faceless, fraudulent group which does not, in any way, depict the image of the party, noting that the “perpetrators evoke a sense of loser’s narrative climax, assailing the reader with baseless accusations and grappling over the losses suffered by their sponsors and benefactors.
“The PDPNYF has passed a vote of confidence in Adamu Muazu and the entire leadership of the party.
“The commitment to serve the party has been aptly demonstrated in the peace, stability and massive influx of members that the party enjoys, since Muazu became the chairman of the party.
“Sadly, the claims were made without compelling facts that will justify analytic responses. This is, possibly, the hysterics from the mouthpiece of some unguarded mischief-makers who see no fighting chance in discrediting the leadership sagacity and administrative acumen of the national chairman.”
He noted that, today, the PDP family is a beneficiary of the purposeful leadership of Muazu and that the party has never had it so good.
“Any calculated effort, therefore, by the confused president of some faceless group, Abdulkadir Makau and his cohorts, to tarnish the good reputation of the national chairman, create disharmony in the PDP family and to mislead the public in only a futile attempt,” he stressed.
He urged the chairman of the party to remain steadfast and undistracted in his quest to take the PDP to the Promised Land.
