The Patriotic Front has lost the Chimondo ward by-election to the MMD with council workers going into celebratory mode pulling down the flag and the portrait of President Michael Sata.

Patriotic Front cadres who were angered by the celebratory atmosphere in the area went wild locking doors including the District Commissioners Joseph Mwambana.

The cadres accused Mwambana of being an MMD member and demanded that he be removed from his position.

Mwambana was forced to flee his office as cadres took over the premises and locked his office.

PF cadres have gained notoriety for locking up offices of public service offices whenever they are aggrieved.
